A relação entre João 1,1 e Gênesis 1,1, é a chave de leitura para entendermos o porquê deste Prólogo que João apresenta no evangelho. As mesmas palavras de Gênesis 1,1 “No princípio, Deus criou o céu e a terra” encontramos em João 1,1: “No principio era o verbo…”. O Evangelista João no Prólogo de seu evangelho nos convida a fazermos uma releitura de toda a Bíblia tendo como ponto de partida os sinais da presença divina na história do seu povo. Nesta tarefa de releitura de toda a Bíblia a chave é o seu próprio filho Jesus Cristo, o Verbo, a palavra do Pai. No versículo 14 está todo o centro interpretativo do Prólogo: “A Palavra se fez carne e fez sua tenda no meio de nós.” (João 1,14)
